You reach Rishiri by boat from Wakkanai Port Ferry Terminal or Kafuka Port Ferry Terminal (Rebun Island). The car ferry from Kafuka Port Ferry Terminal (Rebun Island) takes 45 min and costs ¥1,800 one way for an adult. You can also fly from Sapporo Okadama Airport or New Chitose Airport.
An island in the Sea of Japan about 52 km west of Wakkanai, made up of two towns, Rishiri and Rishirifuji. Mount Rishiri (1,721 m) rises in the center, and the island lives on fishing, including Rishiri kelp and sea urchin, and on tourism.

Fares are 2nd class from the fare table for Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2026 (the fuel surcharge is 0 yen; the operator has announced it will continue not to collect it from January 2027).
