How to get to Shodoshima

The island has several ports, including Tonosho, Ikeda, Sakate and Fukuda. Routes run from Takamatsu, Okayama, Himeji, Kobe and Uno, and each port serves different destinations.

On weekdays (excluding weekends and holidays), the 15:10 from Takamatsu and the 19:30 from Tonosho are designated for vehicles carrying hazardous materials, and general passengers cannot board. The 6:25 and 7:20 from Takamatsu cannot be reserved.

The adult fare of ¥1,300 is the base fare of ¥1,200 plus a ¥100 fuel surcharge (Oct–Dec 2026). The surcharge from January 2027 has not been decided. Shikoku Ferry's page (route3) lists the same times and the ¥1,300 fare. The 6:20 from Shin-Okayama Port is sold at ticket machines only and cannot be reserved.

On weekends and holidays, sailings from Kobe run until 19:20, and from Sakate until 22:40 (overnight via Takamatsu). The adult fare of ¥1,990 is the basic one-way counter fare; a weekend/holiday timetable charge of +¥340 and a fuel surcharge (+¥700 one way, Oct 1–Dec 31) are extra.
