You reach Yonagunijima by boat from Ishigaki Port. The fastest is the car ferry from Ishigaki Port (4 h). You can also fly from New Ishigaki Airport or Naha Airport.
The westernmost island of Japan; Taiwan is about 111 km from Cape Irizaki. Flights take 30 minutes from Ishigaki and there are also direct flights from Naha; a ferry from Ishigaki Port runs twice a week (about 4 hours).

Ferry Yonakuni. Schedule from March 2026: leaves Ishigaki Mon and Thu at 10:00 (arrives around 14:00); leaves Yonaguni Tue and Fri at 09:00 (arrives around 13:00; the Yonaguni tourism association says around 14:00). No sailings on Sat and Sun. Tickets are sold 7:30–8:30 at Yonaguni and 8:00–9:30 at Ishigaki. A schedule is issued each month. The operator has announced it is moving its sailing notices from its blog to a new website, but the new URL could not be confirmed.
