You reach Hahajima by boat from Futami Port (Chichijima). The passenger boat from Futami Port (Chichijima) takes 2 h and costs ¥5,020 one way for an adult.
An island about 50 km south of Chichijima, with an area of 20.21 km² and a population of about 450. About 2 hours from Chichijima on the Hahajima Maru. It is home to many endemic species and natural monuments, starting with the Bonin white-eye (Hahajima meguro), and has Kofuji, Japan's southernmost mountain.

Normally departs Chichijima 7:30, arriving Hahajima 9:30, and departs Hahajima 14:00, arriving Chichijima 16:00. On days the Ogasawara Maru arrives at Chichijima, there is only a 12:00 departure from Chichijima (none from Hahajima); the next day there is only a 14:00 departure from Hahajima; on days the Ogasawara Maru leaves Chichijima, the Hahajima departure is 12:00. On Oct 10, 17 and 24, the Chichijima departure is 12:40 because the Ogasawara Maru arrives late after calling at Oshima. There are no-service days (in October 2026: Oct 7, 14, 15, 21, 28 and 30). No reservations; buy tickets on the day at the Hahajima Maru passenger waiting room in Chichijima (next to the Ogasawara Maru waiting room). A day trip from Chichijima is possible from the second day after the Ogasawara Maru arrives at Chichijima. From Tokyo, connect via the Ogasawara Maru from Takeshiba to Chichijima (about 24 hours). The fare is 2nd class, October 2026 (including a fuel surcharge of 1,070 yen, which changes monthly; 5,250 yen in November and 5,550 yen in December).
